
Bryan Price has agreed to wash his mouth out with soap, but he still hasn’t changed his tune about the media. The Cincinnati Reds’ skipper believes the beat reporters that cover his team shouldn’t share any information that gives opposing teams an advantage. He believes that so much that Monday he conveyed that sentiment with 77 F-bombs . While I stand by the content of my message, I am sorry for the choice of words.” — Cincinnati Reds (@Reds) April 21, 2015 The apology comes not 12 hours after Price’s epic tirade spread all over the Internet and immediately joined Lee Elia and Tommy Lasorda in the manager meltdown Hall of Fame. His target was Cincinnati Enquirer reporter C. Trent Rosecrans, who Tweeted after Sunday’s game that All-Star catcher Devin Mesoraco couldn’t pinch hit because he wasn’t with the team. Note, he reported this after the game. Nonetheless, Price fumed Monday about how the media reporting every bit of info about the Reds will help opponents prepare for games. The core issue here is that Price sees the media as part of the organization that’s under his thumb (he called the beat writers “our own people” at one point).
