The Waterville Valley Tennis Center announced today its summer events schedule, include several national competitions that will come to New Hampshire. For more than 125 years people have been playing tennis in Waterville Valley Resort. But, what many people don’t know is that the 18 red clay outdoor tennis courts in Waterville Valley have been consistently ranked as some of the best in the world. A small secret, but set amid the peaks of the White Mountains National Forest, they are inspiring as well as world class.

The Tennis Center is host to a variety of tennis tournaments:

Memorial Day: 

A mixed doubles tournament over the start of the first holiday of the summer season.

July 4th:

July 4th is the Thursday before the tourney. But Sat & Sun is Mixed Doubles! Set the tone for the summer! only $30 per team. Fireworks are Thu night!

July 19-21 NH Open:

A USTA/NE event open to all ‘A’ players. The best spectating event of the year outside of the club mixed doubles. Bring a blanket, some beverages and snacks! These guys can hit! $40 singles, $50 doubles per team.

Aug 2-4th 14th Annual “Neil Roche” Back in the Game Tournament:

The biggest event of the year: Neil Roche invites all golfers and tennis players who have ‘been away from the game’ to join him for a fun mixed doubles weekend. T-shirt, compass draw format. $50 per team. Saturday Evening BYO Food BBQ at the Tennis Center.

1884 Men’s & Women’s Doubles Classic Aug 17-18:

A fun tournament with lots of action. All welcome to play, $30 per team.

Aug 31 to Sept. 2 – 1884 Mixed Doubles Championships:

The 1884 Championships celebrate the Center’s rich heritage and gives anyone a chance to show off the skills they have been working on all summer.  Mixed Doubles. Labor Day is 9/2. $30 per team.

The Waterville Valley Tennis Center’s Director is United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) professional Tom Gross, Jr., who was trained by and worked for Rod Laver, Roy Emerson, Lew Hoad, Mal Anderson and Jack Kenney.
